Preview from the Bash Bulletin
Pack up your tents and get ready for CHRISTMAS DAY! Witness 350 Bashers dressed as Santa Clause as we drive out of Top Springs and head to Kununurra via Timber Creek where the small amount of kids in this village town will be shocked – and amazed – as so many Santas come to make their day “special!”. Then it’s onto the ORD RIVER CRUISE (for some) with everyone enjoying a SUNSET HAPPY HOUR at a private property on the Ord River.
Highlights along the way
The shortest route from Top Springs to Kununurra is 465km (about 7.5 hours).
Breakfast at the Top Springs Roadhouse, then heading on the Buchanan Highway (unsealed for its entire length) north westerly until we reach the Victoria Highway east of Timber Creek.
The area around Kununurra is also known for mining, especially for diamonds.
Ord River Cruise
We’re going on a cruise of the Ord River. The river goes for 320km, so we’ll be seeing just part of it! I don’t know any more than that, but looking on the internet, many cruises go to Lake Argyle. I guess it depends on how much time we have! See the Triple J Tours site for photos of some cruises of the area.
